Hi! I'm Cygnus, the swan. I'm also referred to
sometimes as the Northern Cross. I'm 2,500 light years from Earth,
but still can be seen on clear nights in the Summer sky. 15,000
years ago a star in me blew up in a great supernova explosion
that is still expanding till this day. The result was the Cygnus Loop, a
spectacular show of light and power that spanned 6 times
the diameter of Earth's moon at that time. Quite a show. I give off
radiation and
have 3 known blackholes: X-1, meaning the first source of X-rays,
X-2, and X-3. These blackholes are invisible and cannot
be seen by anyone. I consist of about 10 main stars, the biggest one
called Deneb. My name is taken as a god, decribed as the
"Bringer of Balance".
